This year 37,000 Americans will develope oral cancers, 8,000 will die from the disease.
Why should I be screened?
One person dies every hour from oral cancer in the United States—and the mortality has remained unchanged for more than 40 years. Alarmingly, more than 25% of oral cancer victims have no lifestyle risk factors. Clinical studies have determined that using ViziLite Plus-TBlue after the standard oral cancer examination improves the clinician’s ability to identify, evaluate and monitor suspicious areas at their earliest stages. Early detection of pre-cancerous tissue can minimize or eliminate the potentially disfiguring effects of oral cancer and possibly save your life. When oral cancer is identified in the earliest stage, the 5-year survival rate is nearly 82%. Unfortunately, the survival rate of oral cancer has not imporved greatly over the last 30 years due to late stage detection.
Early detection is the key to survival.
